Let me be the 1st to say DAMN HAMSTERS !!!! Okay this story is a oldie but a goodie & totally worth the read... BTW: I had someone ask me today "why havn't you blogged recently" so here it goes !!!!
It was April (easter) of 2009... We had gotten rid of our dog Louie & the kids were dying for a pet.. I the NON-petowner that I am decided that hamsters would be a great Easter gift.. We got the kids (to share) 2 hamsters that they named Marissa & Ginger.. They were these tiny little dwarf hamsters & the kids loved them... They did great with them for oh I'd say about 3 months then the newness wore off & it was up to me to handle the damn things..
So now remember we got Ginger & Marissa in APRIL.. Sha (my cuz from WA) came to visit in August with the boys, Gabe & Noah.. Sha & the boys were departing from there 2 week stay here in IA & Walker had just left on a fishing trip to Canada w/ my dad... So i was doing my weekly cleaning (more like monthly if we are being truthful here) of the damn hamster cage & I couldn't find 1 of the hamsters. I lifted up the little house & low & behold there was Marissa w/ 7 newborn damn baby hamsters.. I screamed at the top of my lungs & the kids (mack & mays) came running... They instantly freaked out & were ecstatic... I immediately called Pet-Co & asked to speak w/ a "Hamster Expert" the woman kind of chuckled at me (because yes, I said hamster expert, i'm a idiot) and said hold please... They advised me to remove the male from the cage & so out the door we went... By the time I had gotten home only about 45 minutes from the time I discovered the baby hamsters & my bringing home a new cage for the "male" hamster had elapsed !!! REMEMBER ONLY 45 MINUTES... So we removed the male hamster, which by the way was later named WOODY (totally appropriate) & we went on with our weeks..
Not knowing what to do w/ these hamsters I just let time go on... Well about 3 weeks after the damn babies were born we discovered that Ginger had eaten about 4 of the them... Kids didn't freak out cuz i had told them that sometimes if the mother feels that they are sick she will do that etc..... Well it happened... So the next day I am peering into the cage & low and behold WE HAD 7 MORE DAMN BABY HAMSTERS.... I didn't scream this time but started swearing at WOODY & that he was a NAUGHTY boy hamster & horney !!!!
So Woody had to have mounted Ginger with in minutes of giving birth to the now "teenage" hamsters to get her knocked up AGAIN... So at this time I now had about 13 damn hamsters in this house at 1 time...
I went to work that night & I was retelling my story & my dear friend Mo says, ya know what to do right??? I said no.. She said kill-em... of course being the non-pet owner/like that I am I still couldn't... My dear friend Mo says well I'll come on over & take care of it for you this evening... I said THANK-YOU THANK-YOU THANK-YOU... So she came over, I got her a walmart bag & she took every sigle baby hamster we had... Teenagers & newborns alike... I didn't ask her for a few weeks what she actually did with them & I won't say what she did with them on here eaither but let's just say she was very "matter of fact" with what she did... :) I love you MO !!!
Next morning: Kids: MOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM....
Me: WHAAAAAAAATT ???? (this is in the am so I am a little crabby)
Kids: WHERE ARE THE BABIES...
ME: Well remember kids, if the babies are sick the mom eats them...
Kids: OHHH poor things, they must have been really sick for the mom to eat every single one of them plus the teenagers....
ME: WHEEEW .....
March 2010.... Beautiful spring day ... Our pet crayfish, Camo, had passed on & I figured it was a nice day for the hamsters (Ginger & Woody) to be set free cuz by this time there was NOOOO interest whatsoever in these little puffballs except by me cleaning there NASTY cages... So I took each cage out & decided that they would make perfect OWL food & set them free in the woods behind our house...
So folks, that is my DAMN HAMSTER story.. Now some of you might judge me for this story but I don't really care or I wouldn't have shared it & no offense but I do find humor in it.. They are rodents & that is that....
BUT, I am looking forward to telling the kids this story when they are older.. BTW.. They didn't even realize for 2 weeks that the hamsters were gone & then I lied & said they died...

Tasty Tuesday !!!
What up BLOG followers !!!! I was actually asked, "when are you gonna BLOG again" so here I sit...
Tasty Tuesday is for no particular reason besides the fact that it ryhymes !!! Maybe i should have titled it Teryl Tuesday but then again I have to work tonight so it's not like I'm gonna get my beverage time ON !!! Darnit... Oh well...
So since my last BLOG, the spousal unit has gone back to work (he was on vacation) FINALLY.. He knows if he reads this he will understand & not be offended !! It's just that if he is home I feel as if I can't get everything accomplished that is necessary.. I get roped into playing guitar hero instead of folding laundry. Or sitting on the couch & watching a movie or something & not cleaning a toilet... So yesterday was my 1st official day at home w/ no distractions & wow the things that I accomplished I should have totally gotten a gold star.. So I hung up the gold star that my lovies @ the bank gave me for myself in rememberance of how AWESOME it feels to get stuff accomplished... and just because I am AWESOME... :)
So maybe some of you read in my FB post that I had a proud Mama moment... Ok so here is a little more detail.. Ya see, I was hoping that Mack got accepted into this reading program called Reading Recovery.. Which is intense 1 on 1 for 30 min a day at school for like 12 weeks (Walker did this & it made a HUGE difference). Well his teacher came out to me last week & said "I have good/bad news, Mack wasn't accepted into R.R. because he is doing such great work on reading". Mack has gone from a pre-a in reading from begining of the year to a E level.. Which is absolutely spectacular... He has been a challenging little man pretty much since birth.. Not behavior but always seemed to be about 6 months behind his peers. But he has made such HUGE strides recently & everything seems to be clickin for the little man.. So when he read the word "dangerous" last night w/ NO help I was so proud... He is reading constantly & I feel this huge weight lifted !! Knowing that not only is my job being done but the teachers he surrounds himself w/ only lift him up ... Praise God !!!!
Mayson Taylor wore a skirt for the 1st time yesterday to school in 2 years... FO REAL !! She was very adament about wearing this & she actually got mad at me because I didn't buy the one she wanted on Thrusday night (a black/red plaid) after I got off of work for her V-day party ... Whatever.. So we went to Target on Sunday & got the 1 she wanted... But here is how the convo went in the dressing room.... "Mayson, I am totally cool w/ you wearing a skirt, but 2mrow will you wear a pretty shirt instead of a hammy down Tony Hawk skater shirt with it, please"... She said yes mom but maybe next week I can wear my skateboard shirts with it & leggings & boots.. I said that is just fine child.. She is so individual & I absolutely love that about her !!!
Walker Thomas... Oh brother.... He video taped (on his cell) how to make a homemade lava lamp yesterday... I thought of course this is totally killer right.. The more I got to thinking about it i was like... Hey your not suppose to have your cell phone in class dude.. And if you get caught with it your BUSTED... He sheepishly smiled & I said well I am glad that your so interested in science but dude you can't have your cell going in class... He didn't respond...
Oh the joy of kids... I know this post wasn't going to have any of your laughing but... WHATEVER ... Then quit reading & go back to work... :)

GOLD STAR..GOLD STAR..GOLD STAR
Day 3... When do you think I will stop numbering my posts??? Just sayin... Anyways.. Today's adventures didn't begin for me until about 8:30 this morning.. Tommy woke up with the kids this morning & did the morning routine & took all the kidlets to school & such so I could sleep in .. He get's a GOLD STAR for the day.... After my 3rd cup o joe I decided to get make a grocery list & head to the wonderful place we call WALLYWORLD... I swear the florecent lighting in that place can make a person go insane !!!! There is my #1 GOLD STAR for the day.. Then had a most spectacular conversation with a old friend #2 GOLD STAR for the day... Then not only did i make that earlier mentioned grocery list but the contents on that list consisted of me making 2 wonderful treats for the kiddo's... I came home & made dirt cake (w/ oreo's & gummy worms) then procedeed to make my own trail mix ........OH YEAH !!!! GOLD STAR #3.... Then I know that I will get a 4th GOLD STAR when I prepare the evening meal... HECK YA !! And yep you guessed it I enjoy a good pat on the back weather it is my own hand streaching around or someone elses !!
Okay so here I am on Day 3 of non-employment during the day & I am becoming Betty Crocker in the kitchen... Wonder when this will get old??? Who knows but the adventure is a exciting one & am thankful to have the opportunity no matter how long it lasts !!!

Day 2 of this crazy thing we call a BLOG !!!
Hola peeps who happen to read this blog today !!! I started my day just right, actually got up & SHOWERED, yep I sure did... My morning was full of smiles & giggles & a great cup o joe w/ a good buddy !!!
She shared a text message, because who has time for phone calls anymore & it says ponder this, "insanity is doing the same thing in the same way & expecting a different outcome" ... Now isn't that the truth !!!! That's all I got to say about that (in the famous words of Forrest Gump) ...
So I was pondering the idea of maybe working at the local coffee/sandwich shop i have made a frequent place of "joy"... Not that I know if they are hiring, but I think it would be awesome & then I could still interact w/ people & get my "juice" on ... For those of you who know or don't know me very well a few of my favorite things are... coffee & sandwiches (don't forget the chips) .. But who knows.. But to put it directly, NO, I am not quite bored yet.. Well not completely but I know that moment is just around the corner & I want to have options if necessary !!! Suppose I could sit still long enough to read a book or not be on here typing & folding laundry or maybe talk w/ good friends about MONKEY'S & HAMSTERS.. Remind me if I don't post soon my story about the HAMSTERS !!!!

Feb, 7th 2011... Okay so today is day 1 of my new status, stay at home mom, but with the benefit of no babies, no diapers, no nursing & key.........NO KIDS !!! Unless you count the spousal unit who happens to be home on vacation for the ENTIRE week... And the only reason I am a "SAHM" (for those of you who aren't paying attention it means STAY AT HOME MOM) is because I decided that the "MAN" can't push me into a corner & in this case it was a woman... Pretty much the bank wanted me to work every Saturday & I wasn't gonna do it so THERE !!! I put my foot down & here I am creating a BLOG because I think I am COOL !!! Well duh we know I am cool ... Okay so right now I am in the middle of my very first post & my #2 blessing is talking to me about dessert & family game night which i look forward to doing but I just want to get this 1st post in.... :) So ... On with my rambelings.... Seriously, does this BLOG thing have spell check???? Just sayin ... Maybe I won't even worry about the spell check to drive the spellcheck freakazoids ( and you know who you are, dad) a little crazy !!! HEEHEE !! I figure I talk alot & it isn't always about anything important but sometimes funny, weird, cooky, interesting & sometimes just downright FORWARD... So maybe I will save myself from embarassment in saying to people directly & just indirectly embarass myself for all of you to see... FYI if you don't like to hear things that might be labeled TMI (to much information) please do not read any further.. Because I have a tendancy to be very forward in my thinking & sometimes don't sensor (is that how to spell that) myself & can get into a lot of trouble but WHATEVER ..
